MY QUALIFICATIONS

My qualifications include: B.A.; LTCL in Speech and Drama and the Certificate in Celebrant Studies from the NZ Celebrant School, which I completed in 2016.

I have been registered with CANZ (Celebrants Association of New Zealand) since 2013, and a member of the Auckland Branch Committee for the past three years. As of December 2018, I am a Validated CANZ Member having completed an advanced accreditation process.

MY WHEREABOUTS:

I am based in Northcote, but spend a lot of the summer in Waipu, Northland. I have conducted several weddings for couples who want to have their wedding in Northland, but who live and work in the city. This makes it simple for us to meet to discuss and plan the ceremony while in Auckland. I go up to Waipu frequently and do not charge extra for travel when quoting on a wedding in Northland. I also do a site visit beforehand, whenever possible. This means I am available pretty much when and where  you want, excepting prior commitments.

MY EXPERIENCE

I gain great satisfaction from Celebrant work as it utilises spirituality, creativity in writing, literature and my public speaking skills. It gives me a precious opportunity to facilitate major family milestones through life for many people, who may be experiencing serious stress. I have the flexibility of a full time celebrant which enables me to  be available at short notice.

This summer, as part of a pilot scheme with the Auckland Registry office, along with three others,  I have been appointed as a temporary Court Registrar to conduct Registry Office weddings which are held at the Birkdale Community Centre. This is the fun way to go. It is an old villa with a lounge (waiting room), a front porch for photos and we use the front parlour. It can hold up to 20 people and we have a short, cosy ceremony, which can be more personal and friendly than a courthouse.  It think it is much easier for families to access and use.  It costs the same, we use the same script for vows,  it is just a suburban location, with a celebrant instead of a Dept of Internal affairs officer.  Please look at my testimonial pages for some photos.
